From Boating To
Motoring
We owned a 60’ narrowboat for more than 15 years between 2008 and 2023, travelling the waterways of England & Wales. Fantastic times, but having to witness an incredible decline in the infrastructure of the system, due to lack of investment and extremely poor management, we plumed for a bit of a change and bought an imported Toyota Alphard that had been superbly fitted out as a campervan by Acura Conversions of Hartlepool in 2023.

First-Time Camper Van Owners.
After buying our van we started with some real challengers, some lowlife reversed into the back of us in the first few days of ownership and then just drove off, leaving a considerable amount of damage to the rear of the vehicle. Quotes for repairs were horrendous and we didn’t really want to claim on our week old insurance!

Our first night out, a huge 15 minute drive away!
The first stop out in our van was at Muswell Leys Farm, in the wonderful village of Willey! You couldn’t make this up!
First Proper Trip Out Was To Beautiful Wales.
At this point we only really intended using the van for trips around the UK, I’m not really sure when we decided that visiting some proper foreign countries would be a fun thing to do.
